What an incredible weekend and amazing amount of work.
Always such a wonderful welcoming time in Rosswood - and this past weekend so rewarding to get so much work complete as well. Crunch time for November 6th opening with lots of lovely ideas to finalize and materialize and be excited about. Thanks MCC!

I tried something a little different this year. 2016 Spirit Animal wall & desk calendars are ordered.
There are 50 x wall calendars available at $25.00 each / 10 x desk calendars available at $15.00 each. Let me know if you want to pre-order. These calendars will be available on November 6th at the Terrace Art Gallery. Marie-Christine Claveau <https://www.facebook.com/mariechristine.artwork?fref=ts> and I will be sharing our studio work through the Terrace Art Gallery November 6th-28th.
I have given myself until the end of September to paint my mixed media Spirit Animals on board. These works have been really enjoyable for my kids and I to create. We have only begun learning about Spirit Animal meanings and I hope you enjoy these quirky "painted drawings" ... "drawn paintings"....??? The September 30th deadline is to ensure that these works are complete and photographed - ready for my 2016 calendar. Mine and MCC's goal for this exhibition was to "go back to school" and "challenge ourselves and our painting process through projects." Let me know your thoughts... A few weeks ago I decided to upload some painting images to a design site and create some super kewl tights - yeh me! It was fun designing them and so so great that they arrived just 2 weeks later.
Uploaded original artwork, check. Canadian company, check. Comfy to wear, check. Compliments from friends, check. For sale in the local yoga studio, BIG check. Thanks Aly, Jamie, and Grace for your support! visit Terrace Yoga Studio! August welcomed rain-showers and birthday parties to Terrace, B.C.
I look forward to a few quiet evening to work away on these 48" x 18" stretched linen pieces. Thank you to the fine ladies who allowed me to henna their bride / bridesmaid hands and feet this weekend - it got me working on my pieces-to-be for this November's exhibition. Too excited ~ not ~ to share this upcoming show poster. Woo hoo! I am already getting anxious that my enjoyable studio adventures in Rosswood with Marie-Christine will have to come to an end! I think I can convince her to make this a bi-annual plan.
On that note: trying some new surfaces, paints, and so super enjoying print-making again! It has been a lovely time so far sharing ideas, supplies, and bottles of wine with a wonderful and inspiring artist. Merci MCC. What a lovely evening in Terrace. Amongst a beautiful group of people at the Terrace Yoga Studio I learned and listened and participated in a malas and mantra workshop. The lovely Grace Edison left everyone feeling delighted for just have had attended. Thank you.
Now... to find a mantra... and a mala... and 108 small canvases to work on! Well... not quite behind me, but as I listen to Christmas Carols and sell 2015 calendars I realize how quickly time can escape underneath me.
It has been a year of growth, perseverance and self-discovery. I am happy for who I am and who my little children are becoming. I look forward to the holidays with good family and great friends this season. ~ all the best to you and yours ~ soooOOooo happy to have pre-made 6"x6" stretched linen available.
Birds, birds, and birds coming your way... (see below for - swallow, plover, nuthatch, stonechat, and dipper) --> and 10 more canvases picked up this week... stay tuned for a Cardinal and maybe some Belizean beauties. |
